Divine Times Collective's Pan- Afro Wisdom (POW Fest) was a free festival in Brooklyn that centered the Black queer community. The POW Fest entailed of activities and performances that promoted healing, creativity, and community amongst participants.

Fight The Power!
Spike Lee's 1989 film, Do The Right Thing still remains as a staple piece of work in the art of filmmaking. This drama discusses topics of police brutality, gentrification, and racism in the historic and predominately Black neighborhood of Bed- Stuy, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, these problems are still very (and maybe even more) prominent today.

My Body, My Choice!
The Slut Walk began in April 2011 in Toronto, Ontario, in response to a police officer who "suggested" that "women should stop dressing like sluts to avoid sexual assault."
Social worker Nana, began her own Slut Walk in 2020 in NYC to raise awareness for Black femmes who are victims of rape, sexual assault, harassment, and slut shaming.

September 2024 marks the 25th anniversary since Masashi Kishimoto ’s Naruto was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999.
At Anime NYC in 2024, fans of the popular anime joined together at the cosplay meet up section of the con to network and strike a pose in their amazing cosplays.

Mi Never Been Here Before
Erick The Architect's Jamaican heritage alongside his Flatbush roots were very evident in this performance at Elsewhere.
His all- female band, opening act, and DJ- alongside the projection of VHS-styled clips of reruns, such as 'Martin' provided concert goers with variety of visuals to match the versatile essence of his music.

2017 marked the 47th anniversary of the NYC Pride march in Greenwich Village. A few months after the 2016 election sparked a rise in political commentary at the parade- as many queer people of color were directly impacted by the results of the elections.
