Who is Melodrawmah?

Meli 'Melodrawmah' Holdipp is a first-generation, nonbinary multidisciplinary artist from Brooklyn, NY. They have been making art from as early as 3 years old, such as making fan art drawings, paintings, and being the designated family photographer! In high school, they were actively apart of clubs like yearbook club and film club, which sparked their passion for photography! They bought their first camera, a Nikon Coolpix in 2013 with their likkle SYEP check and has been shooting ever since!

They began shooting professionally in 2017 as a freelancer under the name 'Pennyroyalteapots' before adopting their current alias, 'Melodrawmah' in 2021. For the past 8 years, Melodrawmah has shot birthday shoots, live performances, music videos, community events and more!

What Makes Melodrawmah Standout From Other Photographers?

In a primarily white, male-dominated industry, Melodrawmah takes pride in 'Representing the Underrepresented'. As a dark skinned, plus-sized, Afro- Caribbean, nonbinary, and neurodivergent creative, it has been their mission since college to capture subjects from all backgrounds- regardless of appearance!

The history of photography and filmmaking is unfortunately very racist, ableist, sexist, etc. (ex: Kodak's 'Shirley Card'). Melodrawmah combats that dark past by successfully shooting a large range of models in any type of lighting!
